Cassava (Fresh Maniac Root / Cassave / Mandioca / Yuca)

The Cassava (Maniok) from Transfood GmbH (botanically Manihot esculenta) is one of the world’s most important stronger bulbs. The long roots have a wooden, dark brown bark and a snow-white, very firm interior. For transportation, the fresh shell is covered with a thin, food-like layer of wax to protect them from drying out. Maniok tastes pleasantly mild, discreetly sweet-nutty and is uneatable in raw condition.
